FoodReach: Better Food Access

Over 1000 organizations serve food daily to low income Torontonians.  Some buy their food at wholesale prices, but many can’t. Funding cuts, increased demand and rising food prices are making access to good food increasingly difficult.

Toronto’s Response

FoodReach is a partnership that brings good food to community agencies and student nutrition programs at wholesale prices. It also provides information on food supply and good nutrition, and creates a space for ongoing collaboration.

Milan Pact Awards 2016 Winners

FoodReach is proud to be part of the group from Toronto that received an award at the first ever Milan Pact Awards.

One of the most important goals of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP), is to stimulate the exchange of practices and learning between signatory cities. To foster this collaboration the MUFPP Secretariat, together with Fondazione Cariplo (a charitable foundation based in Milan) launched the Milan Pact Awards.
