Our Story

FoodReach is a social enterprise project of North York Harvest Food Bank (NYHFB). The initiative seeks to combat the rising cost of food and high grocery store mark-ups by offering affordable, reliable, and convenient access to quality wholesale-priced produce, dairy, and bread to Toronto’s non-profit sector.

In 2015, FoodReach was launched as a collaborative effort between Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre, Toronto Public Health, and the Toronto Foundation for Student Success. In 2018, NYHFB took on the project to help the initiative grow into its full potential by leveraging our existing procurement, warehousing, and distribution services.

Under NYHFB management, FoodReach continues to evolve and grow into a resource in which the non-profit sector can rely on as a trusted partner in combating food insecurity and challenging the food system’s status quo.
